Superintendent’s Welcome

It is with great pride that I welcome you to Mokena Public Schools District 159, where we are committed to academic excellence.  Rest assured that MPS is a strong and vibrant organization.  We have confidence that you will find our faculty and staff second to none.  We recognize that our task is to prepare students to achieve the high standards needed to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Elsewhere on our website are our most recent results of the Illinois Standards Achievement Tests (ISAT).  We encourage you to review what our students have accomplished.  We are proud of our scores, but there is always room for improvement.  Test scores are one indicator of student achievement, but these numbers tell only part of the story.  Other indicators of quality schools include parental involvement, a safe and orderly environment, highly qualified and nurturing faculty and staff, well-rounded curricular and extracurricular programming, community support, etc.  We at Mokena Public Schools are very fortunate to enjoy all of these qualities and more.

Most importantly, our students are our greatest ambassadors.  My favorite moments come when I have the opportunity to see our students perform in  academic and extra-curricular settings.   It is inspiring to see the fruits of our collective efforts.
